Linear House
The Linear house located at Periyakulam is surrounded by buildings on three sides with a narrow road leading to its entrance. The design objective was to design a two storied structure for a family of four, with a contemporary touch to the spaces.
The design challenge was to solve the client’s requirements, without compromise on Natural lighting and ventilation. The Central core of the linear house is designed with double height Living room with staircase, which in turn is the core space for light and ventilation. The skylight at the central core provides ample light and also creates stack effect for ventilation. The colour theme for the spaces are of lighter shades to reflect more light inside the spaces.
